Description

A fully furnished 2-bedroom apartment on Battery Park, facing Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. Private entrance, west-facing porch, afternoon light, and a well-equipped kitchen. 30–90 night stays. Over the past ten years we've renovated this historic building located on Battery Park facing Lake Champlain. For this apartment I retained most of the original woodwork, pine flooring, and trim including the original 1905 ornate wooden staircase leading to the upstairs bedrooms. Although the master bedroom is of substantial size, it is a cozy apartment of approximately 850 square feet. Upon entering the apartment you'll find yourself in the living room. To your left is a galley kitchen, directly in front of you is a a turn up the staircase leading, through arches, to the second floor. Beyond the kitchen is the dining area with attached half bath. Picture windows topped with stained glass provide views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains in the wintertime (when the leaves are off of the trees in Battery Park) in the living room and downstairs bedroom. Upstairs are located the two bedrooms and the full bath. Both upstairs bedrooms also have views of the Lake and the Mountains (in the wintertime). This apartment has great afternoon light and typically a nice west breeze from the Adirondacks across the lake. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen as well as linens and towels. Although there is a small table in the living room there is no separate dining area in the apartment. The entire apartment is yours — kitchen, living and dining areas, two bedrooms, and bathroom. Step outside to a shared backyard with a gas grill and fire pit, perfect for relaxing evenings. Onsite laundry is also available. I'm often around to answer any questions, otherwise either myself or Josue is available via text message or phone call. Each door is equipped with a key code lock allowing guests access at their convenience. The apartment sits across from Battery Park, just a few blocks from the heart of downtown Burlington — one of New England's most walkable and vibrant small cities. Downtown & Church Street: Church Street Marketplace is a five-minute walk — a pedestrian mall lined with local restaurants, cafes, boutiques, and year-round activity. From farm-to-table dining to craft beer bars to independent bookshops, Burlington's food and culture scene punches well above its size. Battery Park & the Waterfront: Head downhill a few blocks and you're at Battery Park, one of Burlington's most beloved green spaces. The views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains are genuinely spectacular — especially at sunset. Battery Park is also the premier spot for Burlington's Independence Day fireworks, held annually on July 3rd over the lake. A short walk further brings you to Waterfront Park and the ECHO Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, a science and nature museum right on the water. The Burlington Community Boathouse offers kayak and paddleboard rentals in warmer months. For a full schedule of waterfront events — concerts, festivals, and more — check the Burlington Parks, Recreation & Waterfront website. The Burlington Bike Path: The Burlington Bike Path runs along the lake shore and is one of the city's great pleasures — flat, scenic, and accessible year-round. Rent bikes nearby or bring your own and follow the path north toward the Winooski River or south toward Oakledge Park and its swimming area. Food & Drink: Burlington has a remarkable dining scene for a city its size. Highlights within easy walking distance include some of Vermont's most celebrated farm-to-table restaurants, a thriving craft brewery scene, and the beloved City Market co-op for local produce, prepared foods, and Vermont specialty products. The Burlington Farmers Market runs on Saturdays from May through October at City Hall Park — one of the best in New England. Arts & Culture: The Flynn Center for the Performing Arts anchors Burlington's cultural life, hosting national touring shows, concerts, and local performances year-round. The Shelburne Museum, one of America's most distinctive art and history museums, is a short drive south and well worth a visit. Getting Outside: Beyond the waterfront, Burlington's parks and trails offer easy access to nature. Centennial Woods Natural Area is a surprising urban forest just minutes away. For bigger adventures, the Green Mountains and Long Trail are under an hour's drive, and several ski resorts — Stowe, Sugarbush, and Bolton Valley among them — are easily reachable for day trips in winter. Day Trips: Burlington is an ideal base for exploring Vermont. Montpelier, the nation's smallest state capital, is 45 minutes away. Stowe's village and mountain are under an hour. The Lake Champlain Islands offer a scenic drive and ferry crossing. And if you venture across the lake, the Adirondacks and Lake Placid are within easy reach. Church Street, the waterfront, restaurants, beaches, and most of Burlington's attractions are easily walkable from the apartment — a car is genuinely optional for most stays. Green Mountain Transit (GMT) serves the neighborhood with routes near Battery Park, Pearl Street, and North Avenue. Visit Green Mountain Transit online for schedules. Child Safety: The apartment is not childproof. Guests are responsible for bringing any necessary safety devices to ensure a child-safe environment. Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are 10 PM to 7 AM. No Events or Parties: No events or parties. Please keep guest count in line with your reservation. Parking: One designated parking spot is provided. Additional vehicles may require on-street parking. Winter Weather & Snow Removal Vermont winters can be snowy and icy. Shovels and ice melter are available — please use them as needed. Emergency Information: In case of emergency, call 911. Familiarize yourself with building exits upon arrival.View More
